Maxine's Story
Life
Hi Jackrabbits...Scarab sisters and
Delphi brothers....Cal Bears and AEPhi sorority sisters.
I've been living on an
apple ranch in the Northern California
wine country since 1971. Oakland and
Berkeley before that (I went to Cal
after Poly). Married to the same guy
for over 50 years (how boring...I
know). We have six children: three boys
and three girls. The two youngest sons
are adopted and so is our youngest
daughter. We have seven grandchildren...three
grand daughters and four grand sons. Our oldest grand daughter graduated from University of Arizona and oldest grand son graduated from USC. Our next oldest grandson graduated from U. of Wyoming.
The ranch, kids, and political
activities have kept me pretty busy. I
was elected and served two terms on our
local school board...Expand for more
. Also was the
representative from my supervisorial
district on the Human Services
Commission and on the board of River Community
Services (a social service non-profit)
and a member of the board of Actor's Theatre.
For fun?? I love
to travel and have been going to Europe
at least once every year or two since 1984. Italy
is my favorite county.
My oldest daughter and I spent three weeks in Russia...
a week in Moscow, a week crusing the Russian waterways
between Moscow and St. Petersburg,
and a week in St. Petersburg in 2004...
it was truly an amazing trip!!!!
In September (2007) she and I went to Egypt....
Paris first for 5 days and finally meeting up with a Smithsonian
tour group in Cairo. Yes, we cruised the Nile.
I also swim, read, knit, write (have even been published) and
garden.
