Meg's Story
I'm supposed to catch you up on what I'm doing - and who I am. Let's see.
After high school I tried Northern Illinois for a year. That didn't seem to be the most productive year of my life... so I tried COD. That didn't pan out very well either. Instead, I got married, moved to Memphis, had my first child (daughter, Bridget) and then moved to Jacksonville, FL, where I had my second child (son, Cody).
After that, being a military family - we moved from Memphis to Jacksonville to Portland, ME - then, back to Jacksonville again.
I was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my kids until they were in 1st and 2nd grade... then, I had to go back to work to support the three of us.
I figured out that working without a degree wasn't what I needed to support my kids, so I ended up getting a Bachelor's degre...Expand for more
e from SIU (and I never set foot on the campus!). I'm now working in the field where I got my degree (workforce education and development). I'm a trainer, and loving the work I do!
My kids are out on their own. Bridget is married and has a step-daughter. (Yes, I'm a grandma!) Bridget's back in school to become a teacher and Cody is a graduate from Florida Institute of Technology. He's engaged to a wonderful woman.
My life is great. I love my kids, I love my job - and things are good.
My mom's health isn't as good as it was... but, whose is?
My sisters are in Geneva and North Carolina. We're closer than ever with cell phones.
My dad is in Florida - about 2 hours South of where I am.
I just feel pretty darn lucky for my life to turn out like it has.
