Melanie's Story
About a year after high school I moved up north to Michigan. That was not the best idea I could have had, but I had family there. I went to the University of Michigan in Flint for my BS in Art Education. I later went back to get my Masters in Education with a focus in either English or Special Ed but dropped out to have my daughter before I finished or decided.
I moved back to Texas the last week of April (2009). Yeah! Now that I am home, I need to get back to work and hope to see old friends and meet new ones. I hope to get settled soon so that I can get back to being creative.
Update:
Well, I'm still looking for a job. I don't want to do what I have a degree in so I don't really know what I want to do (when I grow up) just yet. I'm applying for almost everything ...Expand for more
and praying something happens soon. I figure if I throw enough out there something is sure to stick eventually. :) Have to stay positive!
NEW Update:
I got a job! Yeah me! It is only part time for now, but there are possibilities of moving up to full time and management in the future. And it might just be a lot of fun since it is working with toys. Toys R Us\Baby's R Us is opening a new store in September and I will be there from the setup and on. :) Now, I either have to get promoted soon, or find an additional job to go with it...
Additional Update (lol):
I've been with Toys R Us for 6 years now! I am the HR Supervisor and District Trainer/Auditor. I'm looking for new work closer to home though. Also, I now have 2 children; a beautiful daughter and a handsome son!
