Melanie's Story
Life
I have been married for 22 years to my amazing husband, Mitch, and have two awesome children - Matthew is 17 and Cassidy is 12. After IVC, I transfered to UCI and earned a teaching credential. I taught 6th grade for 4 years, had my son and then went on for a Masters in Reading. Now,I teach college reading at Irvine Valley College and live in Irvine - came full circle! I love it there! Cant believe my son attends UNI = the same high school I went to.
College

r and after 2 years switched. I transfered to UCI and majored in Social Ecology. I also earned my teaching credential from UCI. In 1995 I went to Cal Sate Fullerton and earned my Master's in Education with an emphasis on Reading.
Workplace
While I was in college I worked at Sears Catalog department, an afterschool daycare program, and an advertising agency. After I graduated from UCI, I taught 6th grade in Stanton for 4 years. I now teach college reading at Irvine Valley College. I have worked there since 1997.
