Melia's Story
Moved to Newport News from California in 1968, Went to South Morrison from 1968 until 1971 (5th - 7th grade). By the beginning of 8th grade we moved back to California. Often think about the years my family spent in Virginia. It was the last time we were all together. My 2 older brothers joined the service while we were there and they both ended up passing away in the 70's, so my last memories of us as a family unit are those years spent in Virginia. I remember myself as awkward and never quite fitting in. I tried way too hard. I was friends for awhile with Teri Pepe (not sure of spelling) and Tessa Bridges and someone named Wanda?? I had a huge crush on a boy named Chuck. And wasn't there a boy named Vic Puckett?? Anybody out there remember any of those people? Well, if this gets any response it wou...Expand for more
ld be great. Such a weird time of my life. If you remember me, I'm a much better, nicer person now! I had major home problems and made stuff up to cover up that my life at home wasn't perfect (I thought everyone else's was). Reach out! Connections with my past mean a lot to me.
Attended Schroeder from kindergarten (1963) until we moved half way thru 5th grade to Virginia. Came back in 1971 and went to Stacy, then Marina, graduating in 1976. My mom lived on Alexandria until 2 years ago when I moved her in with me, here in North Tustin. In the neighborhood, heard that Steve Sweet and Scott Rayburn both died. Any one remember me and/or my siblings? Brothers, Rote (1952 - 1974) and Sandal (1955 - 1977) and sister Lois - 1962. we all went to Schroeder, Stacy and Marina except the years spent in Virginia.
