Melissa's Story

Life I grew up and went to high school in Sharon, PA. Then I attended the U. of Maine to get my BS degree in Wildlife Ecology. I also spent one year on national student exchange at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. After graduating from Maine, I took temporary positions in West Virginia and then Utah. I found myself back in West Virginia a year later to attend graduate school at West Virginia University. I graduated with my MS in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources in Dec. 2001. I moved to Merced, CA (Central valley) in May 2002 to take a position with the CA Dept. of Fish and Gam...Expand for more
e and worked there from 2002-2004. I then moved to Santa Clarita (north of Los Angeles), because I got married August 2004 and my husband lived there. I then found a job with Sapphos Environmental Inc. and worked there from 2004-2006, after which we moved across country to Maryland in summer 2006 for my husband's new job at the University of Maryland. We are currently living in Bowie, MD and own our first home! I have no new job yet, but we're expecting our first child in December. I am currently involved in lots of volunteer work to keep myself busy until our daughter comes along!
