Melody's Story
What great times in Sonoma! Moved to Texas to go to college. Married and had two children - boy and girl. Currently have 4 grandchildren and not expecting any more! Ha! Worked for all the major oil companies as an auditor. All of my family is in San Antonio. I live 30 miles north of there in an old little German town, Boerne. Have lived here 18 years. Seems all of San Antonio is moving here - ugh. My father and sister Gena have passed away. I have two other sisters in San Antoni and one in Wyoming. My Mother is 89 and currently lives with us. She went to assisted living and cried everyday. After 3 months, I went and got her. It's all good. My husband is a 100% disabled Vietnam Vet, who I also care for. He has a debilitating brain problem from his head wound in the war. He also suffers from PTSD even now. He can carry on a conversation, but in many ways is like a five year old. It is very sad. On the side I am a Genealogist. ...Expand for more
It is my PASSION and have been doing it for 30 years. My Mother was adopted, hence we never knew anything about her family. Nevertheless, after many years of hard work, we now know so much back to the 1600's. It has brought her much joy to know where she came from. I also do it for other people. I also love to look for old family cemeteries out in the middle of nowhere in different states, garden, ride my bike, play with my Corgi and feed the birds. Oh and I love to raise Praying Mantis! They are my favorite insects. I also enjoy going to Georgia and Colorado to fish, although that is on hold now that Mom has moved in. I make do with our lake house, which is nearly out of water due to the drought. And yes - I am still fun and funny! I love life and especially all my special memories of Sonoma. Does anyone know what happened to Jeanette Kirkwood or Jim Perry?? I would have been at the last reunion if I had known about it. Next time!
