Michael A's Story
Life
Currently working with Disaster Services of the Calgary Health Region; also still with The Calgary Highlanders. Got a couple medals, not bad for 20 years of bouncing from the band to battalion HQ to A Company to B Company to Headquarters Company. Published four books on military topics, more in the pipe line. More info in the other bios....
School
Best memory? Watching Emerson make an ass of himself playing "Monkey" on the stairwell. Ponytails and stirrup pants probably come in second, but thank the maker Emerson wasn't the one wearing them.
Worst? How about Mister Rogers the sub wearing the 10 inch wide tartan ties and pink sweaters? Oi.
Is there a section for regrets here? I have a few doozies for that one....
College
Ugh. A right-leaning centrist trapped in the midst of 10,000 far-left liberals. Hated it. Fondest memory - Dr. Ferris' Hitler impersonation. Spot on!
Workplace
Huh....typical University graduate with no marketable skills. Let's see, this should ring some bells. I've been
A security guard (Corps of Commissionaires - the few, th...Expand for more

A bike courier (Operations Manager, really, of The Document Exchange downtown, but I got to ride my bike a lot.)
A Mail Room Monkey for Scotiabank (HATED IT)
A junior adminstrator for the Oil Royalties department of a Trust Company (HATED IT)
A booking clerk at the Foothills working for PCU 112 (nice people, liked it)
A booking clerk for the Regional Staff Scheduling Office when the corporate geniuses centralized the staffing. HATED IT
A Secretary (yeah, yeah, not a manly sounding title like the other men have there - they get to call themselves "Nurse"...) for PCU 111...loved it.
Secretary for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Not a "good fit".
As of 2006 - working at Southport - back to cubicle life in Disaster Services. Great job. Are you ready for the next pandemic? We certainly are.
Military
During Gulf War I, not a single Iraqi tank made it past Macleod Trail, thanks in no small part to me.
