Michael's Story
I spent the four or so years following graduation working the local music scene in the Dallas area, but finally decided that it was time to move on. I enrolled in the Aerospace Engineering program at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1995 with a commission into the United States Marine Corps. I spent the next 8 years as an Engineering Officer in the Marines where I had the chance to see the world. e Marines, I took a position with General Electric in the Chicago area but my reserve unit was called back to active duty and I was on my way to Iraq. Fortunately I was in-and-out in six months, and upon returning from Iraq I resigned my commission. In March of 2005 our son Noah Raymond was born, and I took a position with a commercial real estate development firm. After finishing my MBA in Real Estate Finance, I took a senior executive position with a high-profile, commercial real estate investment company where I work now.
