Michael Jane's Story
Life
My Spouse
Met my husband in USAF at Barksdale AFB,
Shreveport, LA. We were in Strategic
Air Command under Gen. Lemay during the
Cuban Crisis. He was a security police,
I was a personnel specialist. We both
had top secret clearances. I had joined
the military to aid my family in a fi-
nancial crisis and continue my education
under the GI Bill.
My Pets
Bandaid is a cockapoo my youngest daugh-
ter had to give up and naturally my hus-
band felt that we were better than the
pound, as we had already lost a cat, Tigger, which our two daughters had foundin Madrid, Spain. As well as two wonderful irish setters, Pasha and Benjamin, that we had had over the years that were close to our hearts and memo-
ries.
My Kids
Samantha Leaman White is 37 and a para-
chute rigger on the Aircraft Carrier
Carl Vinson out of Bremerton, WA. That
is right across the Puget Sound from our
home in Spanaway. She has a husband, Gary and a 12 yr old son, Cameron. She
was the first youngest amateur climber
to climb Kilimanjaro when we went to
Africa in 1972, or was...Expand for more
it 73? She earned
a BA and enjoys exploring and camping in
the Olympic Peninsula with her family.
She spent 6 months in the Persian Gulf
during the Kosovo engagement, in which
her ship sent fighter aircarft. So she
really appreciates getting out of that
"prison barge" and into the great wild
northwest, thank you very much. Cause
she had to spend time redoing the inte-
rior of the ship while at Bremerton and
developing a good set of muscles (the
government cannot afford to pay for ci-
vilian workers any more).
Penelope Moulton White is 31 yrs old, &
jer husband, Randy, have a 5 yr old, Al-
lison, and twin boys, 1 yr old Jake and
Taylor. She is doing Junior studies at
U. of Washington in Tacoma, Wa. She was
the first youngest amateur climber to
climb Mt Hood at 5 years of age,"on her
own two feet" with her specially made
crampons and carrying her own small ice
axe which helped save her then 9 yr old
sister and Dad from falling into a fuma-
role with her quick action (all in the
training). Samantha was 8 when she was
in Africa with us.
