Michael's Story
Life
Served with "D"Co, 1stBn, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in Vietnam. Have seven children. One lives in Poughkeepsie, three (ages 14, 12 and 10) live with me and my wife in Missouri, one is on the west coast, one is on the east coast and one is attending medical college in TN.
Served over 20 years in the Marines completing two combat tours, one in Vietnam and the other in Desert Shield / Desert Storm. The later was with 8th CommBn, 2nd SRI Group. Retired from the Marines on 1 Nov 1991. Suffered two heart attacks on Feb 3, 2003. Second heart attack was near fatal. Became a disabled veteran in 1992 and disabled from employment in 2003.
I am a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and a life member of the VFW chapter 3118.

ger for a staffing firm and manager for Pizza Hut. My oldest daughter is a policewoman in Poughkeepsie Ny and she recently got married. My next oldest daughter is expecting her first baby in Mar 2008. My oldest son is a senior manager for a large hotel chain in Washington DC. My third oldest daughter is graduating from pre-med college this winter. All in all we have been blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren. I stay active with the local VFW Post here in town and we keep active with the local cummunity as much as possible. My three youngest children are still in school and doing great. The two girls have been on the school honor roll for the past three consecutive years and this year our youngest son has entered the honor roll. Both girls have been accepted to attend next years people to people student ambassidorship program and will be travelling to europe and the land down under.
