Michael's Story
Well, I am living in southern New Hampshire now, been here 30 years. I started high school at The Ranney School in Tinton Falls, NJ (I think it was New Shrewsbury at the time). I left NJ summer of '69 when my father got a teaching job at Westminster School in Simsbury, CT. I finished high school there and then went on to Dean Junior College in Franklin, Mass.
I then decided to go to Rhode Island School of Photography thinking of a career in photography based on my interest in it. That was a two year study.
In '76 after graduation from that school my family and I went to Paris (France) for two weeks. We had lived in Paris for a number of years until I was 11 years old. My father was in the Army and we had three tours of duty in Paris. We wanted to go back one last time as a family.

I got a job at Caldors in Avon, CT selling cameras. Sadly, that's the closest I came to a career in Photography. At photo school they had warned us that if you want to set up a studio you will not make any real money for at least five years. Well, I didn't have a warm fuzzy about that.
I also had an interest in computers so I took a bold step and enrolled in the Computer Processing Institute in East Hartford. That was an intense 6 month course in mainframe business computer programming. That was in 1979. A small life insurance company from Keene, New Hampshire came down to interview students and they offered me a job and so I moved to Keene and have been here ever since.
I married in 1991. We have no children by choice so we enjoy our nieces and nephews. We have a dog - almost like having a child.
