Michael's Story
Life
I did enjoy my years growing up in the Columbus area, including through the many changes you encounter while growing up. Myself, I always got used to change as I moved around a lot while I was growing up. I started out in the Bexley OH schools, having spent Kindergarten-2nd grade at Montrose Elementary. I then moved around quite a bit and lived in St. Louis MO for a year, Dublin OH for a year, and then Cincinnati OH for a year.
I ended up back in Columbus, Ohio back in 1971, and started 6th grade at Whitehall's Kae Avenue Elementary School. I went to Whitehall schools through Junior High at Rosemore Junior High, and then spent my freshman and sophomore years at Whitehall HS. I did enjoy immensely the time I spent in Whitehall and I regret that I have lost touch with everybody I grew up with there including my old friends who graduated from Whitehal...Expand for more

After my sophomore year at Whitehall, I made what was then a very big change in my life ... and ended up spending my junior and senior years of high school at Columbus Walnut Ridge HS, graduating in 1978. It was a tough change to make, but was one that turned out very well as I made many friendships that have turned out to be some of the closest ones I have ever had, and I still do keep up with many of my friends from Walnut Ridge HS in the classes of 1977 and 1978. I did a lot of growing up while I was attending Walnut Ridge, and it was an experience I will forever be grateful for.
Even though I have been gone from Columbus since 1978, having spent that summer of 1978 on the beach in San Diego CA, and then having started college here in St. Louis, Missouri (where I now live) ... I will always cherish having grown up in Columbus OH!
