Michael's Story
I have had a very satisfying journey so far. I met my wife and former Byngite, Deborah(Foxgord) at the end of 1965. Our first daughter was born in January 1968 and our second in October 1969. Bought our first home in 1971 in Richmond. Went to BCIT enrolling in Admin. Management and Accounting and finishing up in Sales and Marketing Management. Worked two shifts a day on weekends in a steel mill and school five days a week. My career began in sales with Crown Zellerbach.Paper. I spent four years in the lower mainland, then off to run the Interior for six years. Transferred to Victoria in 1983 and settled in Cordova ...Expand for more
Bay. Left Crown in 2000 soon after it was sold and became Unisource. Moved to GLBC as a corrugated packaging specialist and retired in March 2012. Deb had an interior design business for a number of years. Our eldest daughter Jacquie has two children, and is a middle school teacher in Victoria. Our second daughter, Bridget passed away in June 2016, has two children .We now live in Sidney since retiring. Spend time volunteering and get a little consulting in now and then. Health is good, and living beside the Salish Sea affords us a bounty of activities to keep us busy, along with spending time amongst friends on Maui.
