Michael's Story

After graduating St. Louis DeMontfort grammar school in 1983, I went to St. Laurence high school. I graduated there in 1987. I then went on to college and got an engineering degree. I worked in the electrical engineering field for about a dozen years or so. I was employed at Argonne National Laboratory where I worked on an accelerator. While employed there, I started a business of my own building houses with a partner. I decided to pursue this full time in 2003. I had some success as I completed and sold quite a number of homes. I moved to Berwyn in 1997. Sometime around 2002 I decided to become involved in local politics. The following year I put my name on the ballot for a seat on the North Berwyn Park District...Expand for more
board. I worked hard and got elected beating an incumbent I was told was unbeatable. After getting some name recognition, I decided to run for a higher office in 2005. I decided to run for alderman. I won that election also. I still currently hold both seats. They are both part time positions. I enjoy being a public servant although it is very frustrating at times. With the recent downturn in the housing industry, I decided to put my business on hold and have gone back to using my degree. I am currently employed at Loyola University. I work in the chemistry and physics departments. I have never married and have no kids that I know of ;) but I do have the three cutest miniature dachshunds, Zoe, Oscar and Trouble.
