Michael's Story
Life
Well since high school graduation IÂve been busy. I started off going to Inver Hills Community College for a semester because I wasnÂt sure which school I wanted to go to. I wanted to stay within the state so my choices were pretty much the UofM, Mankato State University (now known as Minnesota State Univ.), or St. Cloud State Univ. (SCSU). Well I chose SCSU because there mechanical engineering program was just starting out and they already had solid manufacturing and electrical engineering programs available. It was a chance to be apart of something new with the ability to help mold the program to ABET accreditation (engineering thing). I have since graduated back in May 05 from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. a few months, but it wasn't the job for me. I was sitting at a desk creating drawings with AutoCAD for eight hours a day. There was barely any engineering work with the job, all drafting. So I ended up getting a job working for Caterpillar Global Paving Products within a month of leaving MEI. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the huge yellow machines used with road work that have the word CAT printed on it. It's been a sweet job thus far and I can't wait to see what the future brings. I'm looking into buying a house in the north metro with my girlfriend with plans for marriage in the very near future. We've been dating for just about three years now and have been friends for about a year and a half before that. I must say I've never been happier. So in any case there will probably be a lot of change in the next few years.
