Michael's Story
I am retired now, but active in my community. I am on the Board of Directors of the Orillia Pubic Library and chair the Library's Personnel Committee. I am also on the Board of the Elizabeth Overend Supportive Housing Project, which provides rent-geared-to-income housing for families, seniors and people with disabilities.

ayed with us for as little as a year or two, others have stayed for 13 to 20 years.
After leaving Catholic Central, I went to the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After that, I did my graduate school at the University of Buffalo, majoring in Political Science. I immigrated to Canada in 1971, and began a career in social services. I also worked a lot in the child welfare field and wound up as Director of Adoption Services for Ontario.
We have a vacation home in Lakeland, Florida, and hold season tickets for the Detroit Tigers spring training games. The weather is nice and my wife enjoys spending her winters there. I just come down for spring training.
