I am retired now, but active in my community. I am on the Board of Directors of the Orillia Pubic Library and chair the Library's Personnel Committee. I am also on the Board of the Elizabeth Overend Supportive Housing Project, which provides rent-geared-to-income housing for families, seniors and people with disabilities. I still have three children at home. My wife of 37 years (and best friend) is Dorothy Cook. Like me, she is an immigrant to Canada, originally coming from Manchester, England. We have parented a total of 23 children, including 6 born to us, one adopted, and the rest fostered. We were foster parents for the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Toronto and other agencies.
