Michael's Story
Life
Graduated in 1969 and entered the work force. Worked for a few different companies before going to work for EGS Electrical Group in 1974 (known then as Appleton Electric Co.). Transferred with the company to Tampa, Florida in 1982 and subsequently transferred back to the Atlanta area in 2000. My company manufactures electrical construction materials and I travel primarily the Southeast calling on electrical engineering firms, industrial plants, power plants, chemical plants and other places like Kennedy Space Center in Florida. 71. We have been married for 35 years and have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. We also have 3 grandchildren as of this month.
Our oldest son still lives in the Tampa area, while we managed to get the other 2 to move back to the Atlanta area. I suffered a heart attack 1 year ago and had to be life flighted from Villa Rica Hospital to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. I have recovered well and feel better than I have in years. My wife and I are members of Liberty Baptist Church on Burnt Hickory in Douglasville. Since 2 of our grandchildren are in Tampa and we do not get to see that often, we are looking forward to spending time with our new grandson born this month at Crawford Long.
