Mariah's Story

2018 update Life I live with my wonderful genderfluid spouse Jamie, who started out just as my husband when we got married. We have been married just over a year now and living in Phoenix together since January of 2017. A few months ago we lost our cat Midnight due to a tumor so we are now just down to one dog Sheila. We eventually plan on getting another cat, however only after we buy a house. Starting after Memorial day I will working in the same call center with my love Jamie which will be amazing and was goal all along. For the last year I had worked in a call center related to SXM while also supervising agents. For over 11 years I took care of my disabled mom and brother which I had been doing for many years. We used to have 3 pets which I truly adored except for when they got into mischief. 2 cats (Midnight and Tabitha) and one dog named Sheila. Now we are just down to Sheila. I'm now in a different relationship with a wonderful person that I love more than anything. Jamie asked me to marry them September 2016. The plan was for a wedding July of 2017, however we had to move it up to January do to my mom's health along with selling the house. I had the last piece fixed of what was physically wrong with my body since I was young. I left Washington State after having lived their for just over 39 years last year.. I had lived there my entire life until January 2017. It made sense for us to live in Arizona instead of Washington State. The previous relationship opened me to love for the first time and for that it made it possible for me to fall in love with my amazing spouse. It was a learning experience, but a much needed one. allenge, but always one I am up for. My health has been a challenge in recent years, but I"m now dealing with everything that I should have been dealing with all along. I'm much happier and I'm enjoying my life instead living and just barely existing. Losing a dear friend of mine who felt I needed to do something about everything I was dealing with, but was unwilling to do so. Her suicide was what motivated me finally to deal with those problems head on. So many things have changed over the few years. One of which was my name was legally changed which was just one of a few legal changes that occurred. A part of me wishes that I had dealt with things sooner and part of me knows that some of the internal strength I gained from those experiences would have been lost if I had followed through with what I have needed to do for years earlier. School All I have to say about this is I would do some things differently this time around, but I don't regret a minute of high school either. It's hard to believe it has been 21 years though since graduating high school. College I went to Spokane falls community college from September of 1997 until June of 2000. Then I transferred to Eastern Washington University where I went to school from September of 2000 TO APRIL OF 2001. I with drew from school for health reasons and returned in September of 2002. From that point on, I went to EWU until I graduated in June of 2005. Workplace Jamie and I work in the same call center in Tempe together. Jamie is helping people with their mortgages and I'm helping beneficiaries and other companies whose stock is held by the company I work for. Military I have never been a member of the armed services.
