Fr. Mike's Story
Life
Life is good.
Dad is retired, Mom is talking about it, they live in Bartlett and still go to St. Ann.
Tommy is in Bartlett. His oldest, Brooke just graduated from nursing school at Indiana St. in Terra Haute, and she's moved back home. His son Joey is still in Terra Haute living the hedonistic college life.
Maryanne is teaching for the City and has Jake, her 5 yr. old.
Johnny is at 1st Tennessee and is providing sound financial advice, and he just got engaged to Nicki Solomito.
On a sadder note, my brother Jerry passed away 2 years ago. His wife Margaret, and his 2 daughters, Gina and Kristi are doing pretty well.
They named the new Youth Center at St. Ann's after Jerry because of all the work he did with youth over the past years.
Please keep Jerry and all of us in your prayers!
College
This is called a truly "liberal arts" education! After changing majors at Memphis State from Graphic Design, to Fine Art, to Art Education, to something called ...Expand for more
"Bio-medical Illustration"... I finally left the art world and went into the seminary to get a degree in philosophy. Add up my 212 undergraduate hours and you would have majors in art, education and philosophy and minors in religious studies, literature and history. What does that mean? I'm a good guy to have on your trivia team!
I then studied in Rome for a year and went to Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis to finish my masters (oh, add 2 summers at Creighton Univ. in Omaha) and then got ordained a priest in January, 2002!
Workplace
I've been ordained a priest for 5 and a half years and I'm loving it... after 2 years at Holy Rosary and 3 years at OLPH in Germantown, I'm now the Pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Ya'll come down and see me in Whitehaven... and yes, Elvis is in my parish... or at least his house is! If anyone knows how I can get in touch with Priscilla or Lisa Marie and get them registered in my parish, let me know! God Bless!
