Michele's Story
Life
After high school, I took a year off from studies. I worked for S&S Amusements over the summer of 2002, during that summer, I was also crowned Kimberton Fair Queen, and met the man I would spend the rest of my life with.
In December, 2002, Ryan proposed to me, and I accepted. We spent the summer of 2003 travelling with S&S Amusements where we worked as ride operators. I was placed on the Spin-Out (a favorite among fairgoers) where I not only operated the ride, but labored about 10 hours every week setting it up, and tearing it down. I also drove a concessions truck from spot to spot. Ryan was co-operator of the Wipeout.
In September we returned home, and I enrolled at Montgomery County Community College. Two weeks after classes began, I found out I was pregnant, and due to sickness from it, I could no longer attend classes, and had to drop out.
I now work for Masquerade LLC (better known for their Halloween Adventure Shops)plain and simple, I'm in retail Management with the opportunity for quick advancement into our corporate headquarters.
Ryan and I plan to get married, sometime in 2006 at Stokesay Castle in Reading.
School
As most of you know (for those who know anything about me)...Expand for more
I wasn't big on the whole school thing. I slept. A lot. But I still pulled through by some miracle. I wasn't very sociable with my classmates, mostly because I had friends outside of school, and a life outside of school. Once graduation rolled around, it was one of those "thank god, it's over!" things. I partied like hell for a year, then by some freak act of a higher power, I realized I actually missed school! On a whim, I enrolled in college for fall 2003, and after some serious thought, I decided I wanted to be an english teacher (wierd, huh?) all the while thinking of the two teachers who ever-so-gracefully put up with my crap. (thanks G and Mrs. Bruno! LuvYas!) Two weeks into classes I found out I was pregnant, and seeing as there are a lot of "side effects" of pregnancy, I couldn't continue with school.
K do want to go back eventually, but for now I seem to be doing just fine without a degree. I'm not bringing home six figures a year, but I'm getting by, I'm taking care of my family, and focusing on raising my beautiful little girl. That's wealth to me, and I didn't need college to get me there.
If time allows when Raelyn starts school, I want to get my Nail Tech Certificate and work in a spa or salon.
