Michele's Story
Dear Friends,
I'm proud to say I've written an award winning book. It's titled Salt in Our Blood: The Memoir of a Fisherman's WIfe. It won the 2009 WILLA Award in the category of creative non-fiction
In December 2000, I began a journal to record what daily life was like for me as a fisherman's wife , while my husband Bob, and sons Ben and Dylan, were commercial fishing for Dungeness crab and sablefish, off the West Coast.

LOOD recounts the moving story of a commercial fisherman's wife, who is both a mother and a successful attorney on the Oregon coast. Set against the sudden loss at sea of the Eders' oldest son, Ben, it is a tale of indescribable sadness but also one of resilience and courage - a stunning testament to one family's strength and the memory of their remarkable son.
