Michele's Story
Life
I got married to my first husband in 1995 in lawton Oklahoma and had my first child Joseph who is now 10. Divorced him in 1997 and then I transfered to Germany where I met my husband now who I have been married to for 8 years and he is awesome as a Daddy, Husband and Soldier. We have 2 boys Ryan and Kyle who are 6 and 7. So our family consists of 3 boys, 2 cats and 2 Dogs. We live back in Lawton Fort Sill, OK. Hubby is in Germany until July 2009 but is leaving for Iraq September 2007 so we are managing life without him for awhile!
College
No much to talk about here but some long nights raising 3 boys and taking 15 hours a semester. I started with Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma while I was active duty majoring in Criminal Justice, then transfered to Calhoun Community College in Huntsville, Alabama now back at Cameron University. 1 more semester and I will finally be done with this part then off to my Masters. So not many party nights here just me, the computer, the books and my wine!
Workplace
I spent the first 7 years in the Army. While stationed in Germany I got into a military vehicle accident then I was medically discharged. We moved to Texas for awhile, then Alabama and now we are in Lawton, OK. I am currently finish...Expand for more
ing my Bachelors in Logistics Management, and working full time with the Department of Defense.
Military
I joined the Army in 1992, finished basic training and Advanced Training in June 1993. I was only reserves at first-went home working 3 jobs to make it on my own then decided to join active duty 3 months later. I got stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in 1993 in a Field Artillery Unit. Finding out there was only three females in the unit it made me alittle uneasy at first but then it turned out to be the some of the best years of my life!! Then off to Germany I went in 1997 and oh was this a change. I guess a wake up to the real military life. I was placed in a rapid deployment Patriot Battalion. Within a 2 year period we at one time or another occupied Turkey, Kwait and Saudi. These 2 years were the most stressful of them all. Aside from all the military stress Germany was one of the most beautiful countries I have ever seen. And Oktoberfest in Munich was a BLAST!!! A once in a lifetime experience. Then one winter day my soldier rolled our 5-ton military vehicle and soon after I was out of the military. Happy to be out at that time but sad once I reached the states. I loved the Army and would have never gotten out if I didnt get hurt!!
