Michelle's Story
Life
It only took me 25 years but I did it! I graduated in May of this year 2012 and will receive my bachelor's degree in Recreation, Parks & Leisure Services, emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am on the last part of the journey. I just started my 14 week practicum, internship, and will have my degree in my hands by the end of the year. It was the best experience being in Mankato and finally accomplishing this goal. The next step will be finding a good job before the beginning of next year. It feels so wonderful knowing that I finished.
Workplace
For the past 11 or so years I have had the privilege to work with the best population of people on this earth, senior citizens. During this time I have gone from doing hands on work as a Home Health Aide to my current career as an Activity Director. I have worked in a Ass...Expand for more
isted Living Residences wonderful senior citizens. They have brought so much joy to my life. They all have a story to tell and I love to hear them. I wouldn't trade my work for anything. Like I said before, I can't wait to get back to work.
Since I am still single and I have no children, the possibilities are endless for me now. I am ready and willing to go wherever God takes me.
Shortly after I graduated from MNSU Mankato I met the most amazing man, on Christian Mingle. We met for the first time in December of 2012. A year and two months later we were engaged to be married, in February of 2014 . Eight months after that we were married, on Saturday, October 4th 2014. We are coming up to our one year anniversary in just a month. It's been a fun and exciting ride. I can't imagine my life without Kevin. He's everything I hoped for and so much more.
