Michelle's Story
Life
In high school, I played the clarinet in band and was a majorette. I then spent several years trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. My husband, Terry, and I moved to Colorado for five years, where I finally finished my degree and graduated from the Univ. of Colo. with a BSEE. We then moved to Florida for a year while my husband trained on the AWACS. My husband is now permanently stationed at Tinker. I am so happy to be back home. I currently work as a software engineer in OKC. I have two sons, Cael, who was born in 1999, and Skyelar, who was born in 2001. My current obsession is knitting (it's gone way beyond a hobby). School
Boy, did I attend a lot of schools. Not knowing what you want to be when you grow up tends to cloud the whole academic issue. I attended SMU in Dallas for one year, OU for one year, quit for several years, then attended night school at both Rose State and UCO in Edmond. When we moved to Colorado I quit my day job and finally graduated with a BSEE.
Workplace
Although I have an electrical engineering degree, I've "gone to the dark side" and work as an internet programmer. Currently I write and maintain the intranet website for for the radar design and maintenance group at Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (I'm an FAA contractor).
