Michelle's Story
Life: Moved to Washington, DC in 1977 and married husband Steve Brent in 1989. We have two sons, Taylor Wilson (28) and Devon Michael (25).
I am now living in Chevy Chase, Maryland (Washington DC area) after 12 years abroad in South Africa and Egypt, working in international development (1992-2004). Among other adventures, I was fortunate to be able to help launch Sesame Street in both countries and maintain my crush on Big Bird.
Most recently, I worked as a Senior Analyst in Education Policy & Systems at RTI International for 15 years, supporting international development education programs abroad, largely in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, including managing projects in Egypt, Malawi, West Bank, and Jordan,
Previously, I worked for USAID, PBS, NPR, and WETA-FM and have maintained an interest in educational media across the years.

erest for me, a land of mystery and adventure, and stunning architecture. I am happiest exploring the nooks and crannies of the world: the side streets of Istanbul and the Blue Mosque at New Year's, the ancient alleys of Syria or the green veld of South Africa; and of course the pulsating chaos of Cairo and Bangkok.

It has been a wonderful adventure and I am blessed in "trudging the road of happy destiny" for many years and with heartfelt gratitude.
Update: As of March 2021, we are moving to the Chesapeake Bay where I will rescue another nearly forgotten home, Grownup arts & crafts! We look forward to losing ourselves in sunrises and sunsets on the water, After 40 years working at full throttle, it is time to simplify.
