Mike's Story
Life
Well its been a up and down hill battle since high school. The best things that have happened to me was finally getting married in 2005 after years of searching for the right woman. I finally found Gina! She was worth the wait. My son William also had a child born earlier in 2013 (William Jr.) and made me a grandfather. I'm so proud of him!
You will all probably remember me being in to track alot. Well... I still do it to this day (just like I said I would in high school). I still compete in the Shot Put, Discus and Hammer in a league called masters (people 35 and over). I won the Nationa...Expand for more
l Championship in the Shot Put in 2003 and became the National Masters Champion in the Hammer Throw 2004 and 2005. In 2008 I broke the National Masters Record in the 35 and 56 pound Weight Throws.
The best part about Track for me has been coaching. I've coached alot of schools since 1985 and now find myself in Elk Grove. I started my own youth track and field club called Golden State Throwers. GST has now grown into a nonprofit organization that I now run and is supported by several different Olympians. Theres nothing better in life then taking your experiences and your resources to help kids.
