Mike's Story
"Remind them who I am and where I've been"?
I'm Hense, of course, JFK Prep Class of '69.
I've been mostly in the San Francisco area since graduating from Dominican/The College of Racine in '73. Ordained as a Salvatorian - Yeah! - in '77 and stayed as such for 20 years. For 17 of those taught high school religious studies and was K-12 campus chaplain in San Francisco. Then moved to Rome to work as the Asst Superior of the Mutterhaus for 3 years. Returned to San Francisco and took a leave-of-absence from the Salvies for a few years before deciding to get laicized. After several temporary jobs - my "tr...Expand for more
ansferable skills" left a lot to be desired - I finally got my bearings at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Nursing, first as an admin asst, then getting promoted to the Dean's exec asst, which I've been now for 11 years. As of recently, I am now the oldest person in my office. Retirement is set for June 30, 2017 - YEAH! I get back to Wisc about once every 1-2 years for a few days; 4 siblings still there all between Sheboygan and Neenah. That's about it. I'm single and not looking! LOL (Don't want to share my to-be pension with ANYbody!)
Nice chattin' with you, brothers.
Ciao!
