Mike's Story
Hi
Since I finished School, (one year at JC and 3 years at Kendall College of Art and Design).
I spent 2 years in the Army as head of the art department for the Special Warfare Combat Developments Agency.
Since then, I have worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and photographer, since 1980 I've run my own design company, for 12 years as Kingsbury Dame Graphics and then as Michael Kingsbury Design.
I am now retired.
My wife Mary is a retired art teacher and potter jewelry maker.
We have two Scottish Deerhounds, (our 16th and 17th) a cat, Xena, and a couple of dozen Koi. I still like fast cars as I did in high school, along with computers, movies, the arts and food. I've become something of a computer geek, and I currently beta testing Windows 10.
I feel pretty lucky, I got to do most of...Expand for more
the things I wanted to do when I was a kid, skied, raced sports cars in the SCCA, and became a private pilot, (my wife and I had a Cessna 172 for many years).
I've had a number of interesting cars over the years, including an Avanti, a 427 Corvette, Austin Healey bug eye (my race car) etc.
My nephew now has my bug eye, and it is undergoing a complete professional restoration right now.
This is the second restoration I did it myself in 1980.
It has been the cover car in Austin Healey Magazine.
We've live in the same place for the last 35 years, in the country north of Ada Michigan.
Mike
PS.
My wife Mary died in March 2020, but I'm still living in the same place but without the Deerhounds.
My wife wasn't a South High student but her uncle Jerry Ford was. Betty Ford was Mary's fathers sister.
