Mike's Story

Life I have been married since 1991, No kids, 2 dogs (black labs) and am currently a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God, working as a Youth Pastor in Holland, Michigan. I'm was doing some flight instruction part time for Baker College, but have recently laid that down as the ministry has demanded more time and now I just fly occasionally for "Wings of Mercy" as a volunteer pilot. My life is completely different now than when I was in the army. I had some great times back then, but nothing compares to what it is today! Army buds feel free to contact me and don't worry you won't get preached at. (langer, geiger, tennesee, dunagan... where are you?) Hobbies: My wife and I are into boating (naturally living in Grand Haven!) and with that I love to fish for salmon on the "big lake". ing! and not wind-surfing either, real paddle in and catch a wave stand up surfing. I absolutely love it! I wish I had found this 20 years ago. My other hobbies are suffering because of my addiction to surfing. The Best times to surf are August thru Feb, ice-free water permitting. Yes we wear wetsuits, and no, I am not crazy... Pets: We had 2 black labs, but our oldest finally gave in to old age, so now we just have the one Lab, but he sheds enough hair to make up for both dogs... Military Enlisted in Delayed entry program in 85, with application for warrant officer flight training (WOFT) made it thru all the boards only to get bumped for hayfever by the head flight surgeon, so we did basic at Ft. Jackson, SC (one of the last cycles thru tank hill) AIT at Ft. Gordon, GA then on to Darmstadt, Germany with the C Co 44th sig battalion. Decided not to re-apply for WOFT and ETS'd out in may of 88' did the rest of my time IRR.
