Mike's Story

Good morning everyone and please treat people the way you want to be treated. So my oldest son Mike, works at the Orlando Intl. Airport. However, when he was quite young he was competing in contests in art when they were 10 to 13 and he was seven. Drew a dinosaur at that time that won 1st place in a Rochester art contest, again when he was very young. So over the years he would dabble in it because art is his first love. He has now taken it up seriously again. Mike has a showroom in Orlando and last week sold $14,000 worth of his abstract art. One was of Frieda, the renowned Mexican artist, who is known throughout the world. Mike's abstract of her and Marilyn Monroe I like a lot. In ending, please take a look at his work. Also takes after his Mom and Dad in looks if I may say so. 4/27/24. So my most competitive daughter in sports, Jen Silata, a previous All American in Softball in Division 1 and in the prestigious Hall of Fame at Canisius University has and is doing extremely well in real estate. She is No. 1 in the area in real estate and her spirit is one of competitiveness. She has always worked the weekends. Her fruits of hard work have paid off and she purchased 10 acres of land and built a beautiful home. She has a never-say-die attitude and takes after her Father in the spirit of not giving up. Our firstborn, Mary Theresa (Silata) Hutz is the Mother of one of our Grandson's, George, who is very intelligent. Mary has been a Biology teacher and a RN Nurse. She currently is an RN Nurse and never did I need to help Mary fill out all of the different types of papers for college. I always felt Mary was the most intelligent one of our four and I just never worried about her getting those papers ready for college. A wonderful person with a most caring heart , she has been the most successful until Jenny overtook her in real estate in Jenny's third year of work in that capacity. BTW, my youngest son Joe, has been a bartender at Tioga Downs Casino for the last 15 years in the games and slots area. Joe and his wife Erin, who has a very important job, do extremely well. Joe has a knack of picking out very good stock companies in the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P 500. In ending. I am married to one of the nicest and wholesome people that God created on this earth. I am proud to say that Barb and I never smoked or drank and our health is very good. I am 74 and Barb is 70 and s...Expand for more
he looks 55 and we just had our 50th wedding anniversary ! After the one wedding of my son Joe, I dyed my hair. She had been looking much younger than me and I just could not accept that. So I went for the brownish black look and did that for about two years. So in a rough draft that is our family, with a total of 4 granchildren. Two are twins grown up and currently serving in the Air Force and stationed in Saudia Arabia. They are going to get a tremendous bonus for staying on longer !!! It is now 5/3/24 and the twins will be back from Saudia Arabia within the month. I worry about them because they are my flesh and blood and it is just my nature to be that way. In MLB, my Pirates are not playing well. Some of the highly touted rookies from the minors are playing like they never saw a baseball and their hitting averages are below .200. To make matters worse they are striking out at about a 40% rate. The scouts who recommended these athletes for the majors I would fire after giving these rookies multi-million dollar contracts. Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell would turn over in their graves !!! Today is 5/9/24, and some parts of the U.S. got hit with terrible tornadoes. Last night Tennesse was devastated with tornadoes. For some reason they get the most overnight tornadoes in the nation. North and South Carolina were getting it bad when I went to sleep. I hope everyone has a great alert system. So today is 5/26/24 and I love talking to people with intelligence. I hate to say that but it is true. It is just that a conversation continues in a nice fluid motion and you are able to articulate your feelings and it is being absorbed rapidly by the other party. To make it even better, I just talked to a good and close friend who was able to keep the family intact through some very hard times. And through her routes and resolve she basically alone helped guide her children to success . I might mention through this time she basically took the bull by the horns, cause she could see the hand writing on the wall and as a result gave those kids someone to replicate. Again, so so proud of her.!!! In national news tornadoes took lives along the Texas-Oklahoma border and the midwest will get more today.
