Mildred's Story
Life
I am a young 49 and love being younger and wiser. I have 2 adopted children, Jason and Karyn and they have in turn given me between them 5 grandchildren. 2 from Jas and a set of triplets from Karyn. Nothing compares to being a grandma.
After many years of chaos I managed to get my life to a place that has afforded me all I could ever need. I am a self-employeed construction project manager and LOVE my job. I own my own home and am in the process of building an all GREEN ECO FRIENDLY HOME for myself and the grandbabies. This will take a lil' while to complete between my customer projects but well worth the time I'm sure.
My other passion is football and softball. I play women's professional football. We play all NFL rules full dress tackle football and I love it. I am the oldest woman in a starting position in the league. I play defensive-end and often am put in receiver positions. This past year I managed to get 11 sacks. Not bad for an old lady : ) Just as football is ending I am starting fastpitch softball on the over 40 women's team. We play tournaments all over and I love it. I play catcher primarily and shortfield when I'm not catching. My oldest grandsons my biggest supporter and is a wa...Expand for more
terboy in training on the football team. I also belong to the Sierra Rock Climbing Club and the Long Beach Sailing Club. I suppose the sailing is the most relaxing and I just started that last year. The rock climbing too is relaxing but differetly so. There is nothing more beautiful than reaching the top of your destination and looking out and seeing the lakes and landscape from such a different prespective.
I have traveled a little but would like to do more. I have been to Canada several times and love it there! Nova Scotia was my favorite, hiking the Cabot Trail. This has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Been to Hawaii several times, amazing snorkeling in Hawaii. A little scary when those bizarre looking fish swim up near you but worth seeing all the colors in a way that I have never before seen color. Next stop Scotland I hope then Austraila. Planning Scotland for 2008, 2009. I have pretty much hit all of the states here and would like to do that again in retirement. I had planned to move to North Carolina but the grandbabies started showing up so that put a freeze on those plans for a while. Well I hope all of you are doing well and that you are embracing life and it's gifts.
