Rena (Mina Maureen)'s Story
Please read: we’re looking for info on Rena: My husband, Phil West, of Spokane WA, was born June 26, 1967. His birthmother was Mina (Rena) Agnew, who graduated from Harwood School in 1965. He was adopted at 3 days old and about 10 years ago contacted a confidential intermediary and was able to learn Mina's name, as well as some descriptive information of his birthfather, who was not named in the records. We know that he attended a local trade school for electronics, had red hair and was approximately 25 years old when he knew Mina. As New Mexico is a closed adoption state, the intermediary was only able to give him the information because there was a death record for Mina in the system. ay in 1986. We believe that at the time my husband was born, she attended the University of Albuquerque. We don't know when she graduated, all we know is that she attended in 1967. She married John T C De Baca in 1969 (the article on which is from where we have our only picture of her). She had two other Children -- Ann Marie De Baca, who we had the fortune to meet in person recently -- and Guillermo Martinez, who we have yet to locate. We have done as much secondary research as one can, as an adoptee, and I hope that by creating this profile, that we may be fortunate enough to get into contact with someone that used to know Mina back before my husband was born.
