Miranda's Story
Life
Well, I'm not really certain what I want to write, but I thought that perhaps if anyone wanted to read about what I've been doing, I should put a little something.
After finishing High school in 1985, I decided to take a few years off and start working. I did everything from door to door sales, telesales, waitressing to packing pickles ina pickle factory...nothing very glamourous. Then one day it hit me...I want to be involved in Travel. I went back to school and got my diploma as a travel agent and went to work sending other people around the world. I did my own travels and met a lot of very nice people, but never really seemed happy. I moved up to Churchill for a while, then came back to Winnipeg and bought a travel agency of my own. That lasted only a year, as part way through I met a wonderful man, however he was not in Winnipeg, and in order to pursue a relationship it meant my relocating. About a year into our relationship (long distance) I took the plunge and moved overseas to London England and married the man of my dreams.
I have been here in London now for a number of years and have been working in travel. I started out in the e-commerce travel industry when it was first starting out and have made my way through several positions within the industry until finally I found my niche in Customer Services. I was the customer services manager for a large international travel company, trading in more than 20 countries. ...Expand for more
My job was dealing with client's complaints, county court, arbitration, and trading standards as well as managing a very busy team of professionals. Not quite what I had envisioned while I was in school, as I always thought I would be a lawyer, but I see more court action than the average person, yet I get the variety of working in a customer service department where I got to see both happy and unhappy customers. Since then I have changed careers slightly and moved from the travel industry to Property Management. I am still dealing with Customer Service and I am managing the complaints department and customer service for four brands, but now the complaints are about leaking roofs and unfair service charges rather than there were too many spanish people in Spain! I have been in this new field for just over a year and a half and am loving it. My job is very rewarding.
I do not have any children, but I do have two very loveable cats, they are white with black spots, so they look like little cows. One we named Joey, after the character on Friends, because he loves his food and he's a little on the dopey side, and the other needed a cow type name, so she is daisey.
My husband is the most wonderful man alive, and we live in a wonderful house in North London.
I don't know what else to say, other than if you want to know anything more, or would like to get in touch, simply email me, I would love to contact any and all of you.
Cheers
Miranda
