Monica's Story
I attended my last 2 years of high school in Alabama, then Walker College (in Jasper, AL) and the U. of Alabama where I studied education, and got my "MRS" degree. Married nearly 37 years, I have 4 grown children, all independent and university grads, and I have 4 grand children. I'm grateful for having had opportunities to visit several foreign countries, the most recent one being China. Presently I'm in the process of moving to Smyrna, TN (Nashville area) from Knoxville, TN. I am pretty proficient in Spanish and enjoy many international friends. I have instructed law enforcement, medical personnel, business people, social workers in Spanish, and have done some interpretation in court. I've lived in 6 states since Michigan, plus Bolivia (South America). There's no place like the wonderful U.S.A.!!! I make church a priority; it's one of my favorite places, and where I continue to meet new friends and stay in practice with music and singing. I love yard sales, junk and antique stores, flea markets, etc. Sp...Expand for more
ot is my doggie's name; he's the best, a Schnauzer mix. I'd love to have a parakeet, again, but I travel too frequently. I hope to have a nice garden next year. (Does anyone like okra? Tomatoes? Green beans? ) Favorite house plant: African violet. Favorite outside plants: Datura, Angel Trumpet, Mints, Lemon Verbena. Hot tea is preferable over coffee. And of course, iced tea is great, and in the South you order "sweet tea" or "unsweet tea". I've recently discovered the delight of a feather mattress (placed on top of a regular one), covered with a mattress pad, and all the rest. Talk about sleeping on a cloud!!! It's awesome!!! Oh, and another thing I really love is my GPS!!! I highly recommend a GPS, especially for people like myself who tend to get lost going around the block! Please, please pray for our country, for our leaders, our soldiers, our economy, and don't ever forget the things that make our country great and the freedoms we take for granted. Please vote! God bless you! God bless America!
