Monica's Story
Life - 7/09
I will be married to Rick Progin, Joanne's brother, 26 years in October. We have 3 great kids, Ryan, 22, currently a Penn State student, majoring in Biological Engineering and German, minoring in Evnvironmental Engineering; studying in Germany this summer for his overseas studies; Rebeka, 19, a sophomore at Penn State University, majoring in Elementary Education & minor in Spanish and Special Education; and Derek, 16, junior at Cedar Crest. I currently work at Hershey Medical Center to help pay for the college education - tuition discount for PSU. All 3 kids involved with sports and my husband and I love watching them play. In 5 years or so we are hoping to move to State College as we are there all the time - even before my son was in college. We have season tickets to PSU football games. We have been to numerous bowl games. We have been a host family for the BIG 33 for 14 years and have met many awesome people, some who are now NFL player...Expand for more
s. Ryan was a manager for the first 3 years and is friends with some great players such as Larry Johnson; Kenny Watson, and LaVar Arrington. His mentor is Craig Fayak - kicker from PSU and was a leading scorer. Ryan can go to Craig for anything. Through Craig, Derek met his roll model, Robbie Gould, former PSU kicker and the Chicago Bears current kicker.
Both Craig and Robbie are awesome roll models for any impressionable youth. Rebeka played soccer and loves it. She also played basketball, but quit after 9th grade. She is a talented athlete, but plays for fun especially after tearing her ACL in 10th grade. Derek loves roller coasters and hopes to design them some day. Rick retired from the military after just shy of 30 years and currently works at the VA hospital. I do not subscribe to the gold plan at classmates.
