Nadine's Story
Life
I have my masters and my California clear credential. I am going back to school to work on my administrative credentials. I still live in Lancaster where my dad retired from the Air Force. I went to college at CSULB as did my brother and sister. My brother and his wife both teache at Quartz Hill High. He coaches basketball here at Paraclete where his stepson Christian is attending high school. My sister and her husband are based in Dallas Texas.
School
I am fortunate to still be in contact with Julie (Nelson) Sindle and Jill. We have known each other since 6th grade. Thank God for e-mail. Julie is now a nurse with two sons and Jill works in a bank in Hawaii where she lives with her husband and two kids. I think back on all the pranks we pulled in junior high and wonder what were we thinking.
Mrs. Wrin from AV high is the reason I teach AP English Lit. today. She is the reason I passed the AP exam. She pushed me harder and made me work on my writing.
Mrs. Davis was my sixth grade teacher. She was so welcoming and always had a smile. The year before she passed away she subbed in my sixth gra...Expand for more
de classroom. It was wierd to have my former teacher taking care of my students but I knew my kids were in good hands. I am hoping to be as inspirational a person as she was to me.
College
College was the best of times and yet the worst. I remember ice blocking down hardfact hill. I remember falling in love for the first time and facing heartbreak for the first time. I am greatful for Elisa and Laura. They made college the best. Laura introduced me to Alpha Delta Chi and Elisa became my sorority sister and friend shortly there after. We shared all our hopes and dreams. I am glad that e-mail has kept me in contact with Elisa. I still remember when we stole the picture from the fraternity house and drove it out to Julie's beach house. Wow, we had some great times.
Workplace
I am the Girl's Dean of Discipline at Paraclete High School. I am also the English Department chair and teach AP English Literature as well. I enjoy being able to be both an administrator and a teacher. I know I am getting closer to the time whem I will have to choose one over the other but until then I will enjoy what I have.
