Dr Nadine's Story
I am a diversity, sexuality, and spirituality expert ~ enlightening individuals and unifying groups ~ through speaking, writing, and coaching/counseling.
I am a published author. My works can be found under Nadine Rosechild Sullivan on Amazon.com.
I am an interfaith minister and a clinical hypnotherapist.
The question at the top of this column was, "Who are you really, Nadine?"
Well, really, underneath it all -- I am a writer (a poet and memoirist).
Being a writer is my most central identity. And I am a student, of life.
I am also deeply spiritual. I wanted to be a priest, but as you know, they wouldn't let me - so along the way, I became an interfaith minister instead (ordained and everything).
I was blessed to become the parent of two daughters, one of whom has given me fraternal twin boys (2008), and to have spent some good years as a wife.
I returned to school and became a social scientist (always a sociologist, sometimes an anthropologist, also a sexologist).
So, now I am a speaker, educator, author, spiritual counselor, positive thinking coach, and hypnotherapist - working at the intersections of sexuality and spirituality, teaching people (through seminars/lectures/courses/and counseling/co...Expand for more
aching) to understand themselves and each other better.
My class topics include human sexuality, gender, family, social stratification, race, immigration, and ethnicity.
My published works include:
"I Trusted You: Fully and Honestly Speaking of Gendered Assault" (2012, available on Amazon)
"Turn Your Life Around! Expand Your Use of 'The Secret' & Manifest Intentionally in EVERY Area of Your Life" (2011, available on Amazon)
"Pathways into Social Movement Activism, Altruism and Self-Interest: The LGBT and Marriage Movement in New Jersey" (2011). Ph.D. Dissertation. Philadelphia. Temple University.
"Intrinsically Disordered or Gay by God? How Gay People Reconcile Their Sexuality and Their Spirituality." (2004). Candidacy Research Paper. Philadelphia. Temple University. (available upon request).
More personally, I like the woods and the beach, but I like the woods better and prefer my beach by moonlight.
I love to see new places. I like to go off the beaten track and see the places tourists never see. It's the writer in me.
And I was the kid who ignored you while you played ball, sitting instead under a tree, reading and writing my poetry - until you cried, "Road trip!" Then I packed the cooler. . . .
