Nancy's Story

Let's see, worked at the World's Fair in '65 drawing charcoal and pastel portraits at the Paris Pavilion, attended Marymount College in Tarrytown for a year and majored in art. Got a job on MacDougal Street, Greenwich Village doing portraits again in'66, left college and moved to the Village, and played guitar in the 'basket houses' at night. Joined my first band there, and had a weekly gig at a bar in NJ. Attended the School of Visual Arts on 23rd St in'67, and The Art Students League. Joined my next band, 4 guys from the Bronx who decided I should be the lead guitar player, and got hooked on playing lead guitar. A few bands later, played bass in a country band, and guitar in a soul band. In my present band play keyboards and guitar mostly. We have 5 part harmony in this band which I'm proud of, and play 60's and 70's classic rock - Beatles, Byrds, CSNY, Fleetwood Mac, etc., and now added more recent materiel. Began studying Edgar Cayce (the miracle man of Virginia Beach)in '67 which led me into Massage Therapy, and got my license in '73; started working at health spas, facial spas and studying nutrition and learning many natural, unusual, and uncanny cures to illnesses. So if you have a question, feel free to ask. Finally got married in '81 and had baby Brittany in '84. the love of my life....Expand for more
Became single mother in '85 and had many struggles, as you can imagine. Relocated to Virginia Beach in '94, to pursue my interest in Edgar Cayce and in '95, started working at the Heritage Store, the manufacturers of Edgar Cayce products worldwide. It's also a large health food store and new age center, with psychics, chiropractors, yoga & other classes, and massage rooms (where I work). Also became a "Reiki Master" over the years, and teach Reiki classes. I thought I would have become an artist, (still do a few murals and portraits) but ended up going more into music. My daughter graduated, finally, with a degree in psychology, and for now works at a law firm and is learning para legal skills. She has a son, Jack who is turning 7 (in 2011) and is a real mischief maker. My life is a lot of fun. Most of my friends are psychics and musicians, so there's always something interesting to do, especially here in Virginia Beach! My band is called flashbackfive, and the website is under that name, if you want to visit and hear the music. Want to add that my sister, Celeste and brother Jim, have been doing well in California for the last 35 years or so, and brother, John, doing fine in Chappaqua. I'd be shocked if anyone actually read all this, but there it is! I'd love to hear from any and all of you.
