Nancy's Story
Life
I am looking to connect with old friends. I am single again over 14 years, having fun in the sun, as usual. Thinking about taking the plunge one last time., which would include a lot of traveling. I am writing quite a bit these days. Nanac2954 at america on line dot com is one way to find me for now. At the moment, I remain in SE Florida since 1974, hurricanes never washed us out. My eldest daughter Jennifer has two beautiful girls, and Amanda Joy has two sons, one daughter, so that is quite enough! I tried moving back to Middletown for 18 months several years ago: lots of fond memories but too cold, guess my blood has thinned out after all this time & I missed the beach and my kids too much. Sad to say Mom & Dad are both gone now. Family, volunteer opportunities, friends and church activities (Christ Fellowship) keep me busy. I remain the same girl at heart: love music, reading, writing, festivals (Sunfest!), concerts (Buffett to Bruce, Third Day to Kutlass), theater and the great explosion of art and culture we are experiencing down here. I try to keep fit with exercise, biking, water sports, dancing, good friends & good times. I was thinking about going back to school, now that I am done paying for the kids. After all, "middle age is only half way through". I have switched careers a few times. I am now very happy working in ministry. Looking to reconnect & see what others are up to. Middletown was the greatest place to grow up! I pulled out the old yearbooks, we all look so young, and so much alike always thinking we were so different. Hey guys (you know who you are!)- SO good to hear from you... and I thought girls would be better at writing!

on more, have attended class more (!) but wouldn't have missed out on any of the fun or parties. How did I ever cut all those classes with Mom working in the Guidance Office?
Strongest memories:
Saddest: 4th grade when we found out President Kennedy was shot. All the teachers were in the hall crying & we had to put our heads down on our desks & be quiet but none of us really understood why. First funeral I had to attend in H/S when Smitty slipped off the hood of a car on the ice & died. (Thanks Billy for being there, but where are you now?)
Funnest: (is that a word?) Painting beautiful things on those ugly green walls in the high school. The "smoking tree" across the street - which isn't there any more. Riding the circle at Asbury Park - going to the beach in Jeff & Dave's Mom's convertible with surfboards hanging out the back. Swinging out on a rope and dropping into the lake at night, nearly getting caught. Ok, I will give in to the fresh smell of the woods in Autumn and a quiet walk on a winter night with the only sound being our footsteps in the crunchy snow.
Craziest: how we ever got away with all the stuff we did & our parents never found out - like sneaking out to Steelmill concerts & hanging with the boys until the wee hours of the am, sleeping at "someone else's house", hitching to Red Bank, meeting kids down at the park.
Most Amazing: staying a "good girl" through it all!
Workplace: I've been the little guy and the big guy, had my own business and have learned it's not about the title or even the paycheck: it's all wrapped up in how you feel about yourself when you go home at the end of the day, and what you have done to make someone else's life better. I currently do a lot of ministry and volunteer work.
