Nancy's Story
Life
Married since 5/74 to the same wonderful man I started dating in the summer of 1972. We renewed our wedding vows for our 30th Anniversary. He also retired after 30 years and is now working how and when he wants to.
Our oldest daughter is a secondary teacher (French/math) and coach, graduated validictorian of her class, lettered in everything, married in 1999, had first child, a girl, Dec 2000, 2nd, a boy, July 2004, 3rd, a girl, July 2005. She and her family live near us. Younger daughter graduated from college with a degree in theater and in secondary education - social studies, had her sister as a teacher and coach, was also active in everything. Currently working in theater in the Twin Citeis. Had a son who passed away 13 years ago.
I work part-time as the director of the Lake Vermilion Resort Association. Finished bachelor's degree as a non-traditional student in 1995. We live in a small town, with a quiet and satisfying life, friends and family surrounding us.
College

tate University as a non-traditional off-campus student. I finished my degree by travelling to night classes many evenings after work, and through home study.
Workplace
Most of my work life has been spent working for non-profit organizations.
I was the business manager for an association which ran a children's camp and 2 day care centers, as well as being one of the 10 largest charitable gambling operations in the state, which was used to support the camp.
For a short time, I was the secretary/bookkeeping for a group home for the mentally ill. That worked out nicely, because it just happened to be within a block of our home!
From there, I worked as a business consultant/program developer/business consultant supervisor for a non-profit which helped people start, stabalize or expand their small business. This job included teaching,one-on-one consulting, and loan packaging, as well as overseeing and training other consultants.
Now I am the director for the Lake Vermilion Resort Association, a tourism organization.
