Hi my name is Lightning N Mitchell. I’m originally from Hodge Louisiana a Vietnam Veteran. I am also the founder of the Women’s Basketball Association the WBA. (THE VISION) story is the true story of the success of the Women’s Professional Basketball here in the United States. The American woman had to leave the country to play professional basketball, unlike their male counterpart who has been playing for decades in their own country, the United States. The WBA was the first ever in history, spring and summer women’s professional basketball league here in the United States. In 1991 the birth of Women’s Basketball Association broke ground. In 1993 we reached out for support from the NBA. This documentary film tells the true story and is being shown in film festivals and high schools all over USA. Also a copy of (THE VISION) is being given to each school Library for students to able read. History laid by others should never be forgotten. d for us is now enjoyed by millions as we travel all over the world in a matter of minutes. Also the telephone was laid by Alexander Graham Bell and it seems as if we can not leave home without it anymore. It can be carried in our hands or pockets and within seconds we can call or text whoever we may need to relay a message or just enjoy a conversation with a friend or family member. Now I share with you the plan God had for my life. It was to create a women’s professional basketball league. And now I tell my story to Kids, to keep on dreaming. Never quit, my story is to encourage all kids of all ages not to give up on their dreams. Our kids today need something to hold on to. Some type of hope that would take the place of the violence that surrounds them. This story is about not giving up when it seems as if all odds are against you. It’s about how I continue to strive to be something that was not to be, a player in the NFL. And to become something that was to be, and this would become the greatest achievement of my life. THE VISION story is an inspiring story for all.
