Nichole's Story
Life
The most recent (as of 7/05) thing that has happened to me is that I've decided to go back to school (South College) and get my degree in elementary education. I also work for Blount County Schools as a teaching assistant in a CDC class.
After graduation I lost some friends, made some friends, and found ones that I thought I'd never see again. I did venture to PSTCC with a few of you, but dropped out and needed to "find myself." I worked a few places and eventually found music as one of my creative outlets.
While at PSTCC I was a vocal performance major with a minor in piano and somehow proved myself worthy of a spot in the adult chorus with the Knoxville Opera Company in (Oct.) 2003. I perf...Expand for more
ormed in the beautiful opera Turandot (sung all in Italian, yet set in Peking, China). Beyond that I found a community theater that I've fallen in love with...the Oakridge Playhouse. There I've been in Bye Bye Birdie (Aug. 2004), and Meet Me In St. Louis (Dec 2004). I'm now taking a break from musical theater to focus on school, but if time permits I'll go audition if I know I have the time to devote to it.
And the most important thing that I've been doing is taking care of both of my parents. My father's retired, and my mother wants to very badly. When both of them had surgeries they couldn't do things for themselves, and I was around to help them out. Let's just say I did a LOT of growing up in 2004.
