Norma's Story
I went to work for an insurance agency called Crane
Insurance Agency. It was located in the Pierce Bldg. on 4th Street in Downtown St. Louis. I had already been working there during my Senior year of High School. I went from there to Fireman's Fund Ins. Co.
located in the Thomas Jefferson Bldg. It later moved to Creve Coeur. I was there for 31 years. I started in the file room, then became a mail clerk, then a typist, then a CSS, then a CA and finally an office adjuster. I lost my job after 31 years due to the whole department being outsourced. I then wen to work at Hancock School District as a Custodian. I
left there about three years or so ago and moved to
Cynthiana, Ky. I started working at Wal-Mart as a part-time cashier, in Georgetown, Ky. I then went to
work full-time at Product Action International, which is a contractor mostly for Toyota Mfg. in Georgetown,
Ky. I am still there at this time.
I was married the first time in 1974 and then again in
1982. My third marriage was the best of all. I was married from 1985 until 2005. I have one child a son
who will be 22 years old this June. He still resides in
St. Louis, Mo.
I also play the piano. I played for my church in St. Louis and two singing groups. I am the back up piano playe...Expand for more
r for my church in Cynthiana, Ky.
I have been through alot of good times and also alot of bad as I am sure everyone has.
My father died in 1967 and my mother in 1994.
I met someone who I thought was very special and still do believe he is. He was and still is the love of my life. However, we are no longer seeing one another. I still believe he is a good person and I still
care for him very much, but I have came to the decision that whatever God wants for my life and whoever God wants, is what I want. I do hope to meet someone that I can love and someone that for a
change will love me and care about me. I do not want
to spend the rest of my life alone. I have my son, of
course, but he also has his own life.
I hope old friends will remember me as a nice and friendly person who loves to be with people and loves
to laugh. I try to always keep a smile even though I
may not feel like smiling on the inside. I have been noted as the one who is always smiling. I do try.
My life has not all been bad. There has been some good moments. When I was with one of the singing
groups, Heavenly Echos, we traveled alot and sang. My son was also in the group and he plays the drums.
I have been to 19 states and hav enjoyed the traveling very much. We had fun.
