Life
Although I don't do it nearly as often as I used to or even as much as I'd LIKE, I truly enjoy corresponding with friends I've made. Letters, fonetalk, e-mail, visits, all that.
The warm fuzzy - the feeling of familiarity and safety we feel when trading words with friends, old friends not heard from in particular - is no accident or coincidence. y really were after a decade or two has passed w/out any real contact.
I tend to be a dreamer, imagining that people are nicer or more ethical than they actually are. This idealism may be a *charming* quality, but sometimes it sets me back, de-legs me. At the end of the day, though, the rewards are worth risk of failure or ridicule, I say. For me? the alternatives to idealism are unthinkable. And every real friend I ever had, I have still- except one... That ain't bad:-)
