Oscar's Story
My name is Oscar Lopez. I was one of the first students to join Mott Hall when the school initially opened. I miss those great old days!
I am now 35 years of age. I am married to a wonderful woman, Sandy. She has given me 2 awesome children, Marcus and Lauren. I work as a systems administrator for one of the major banks on Wall street, Citi.
Life has dealt me a lot of tough blows, but I am standing strong today. My son Marcus was diagnosed with Autism 11 years ago and we have been battling with his disability for an eternity. My son lives in a great residential school due to his severe form of A...Expand for more
utism. I am now an Autism Advocate in Orange County, NY. I volunteer my time when I can to raise awareness and money in my county as well as help other families that encounter the same challenges with Autism that I do.
I thank God for My daughter Lauren and that she is normal. She brings smiles and laughter to my wife and I when we need it most.
I am also thankful for my soulmate, Sandy. We have been married for 14 years and she is my friend, partner, lover and awesome mother to my children. I could not have asked God for anyone better to be on my team, to deal with the challenges we have faced.
