Pam's Story
We live in El Paso, Texas where Coach Don Haskins ("The Bear") (the lead in the movie "Glory Road") and Texas Western College (Now University of Texas El Paso (UTEP)) is based. Have you all seen it yet? Coach Haskins still lives here and is very active in the community, as well as, his wife. Our city is very proud of the fact that Coach Haskins was recognized for the triumphs over discrimination and his perserverence. You all have got to see the movie. He did something that many only dream about. He crossed all racial barriers and did what HE thought was RIGHT, NOT what the sentiment of 1966, towards non white basketball players. m many times on TV and in restaurants around town but I never got to really know him. Great man!!
I have been married for 16 years to a very wonderful man. I am the proud mother of our 12 year old daughter, Celia. Nope, No more kids on the horizon. I am enjoying being a busy Mom of one. What a blessing she is and beautiful too!! (Of course, I'm biased!! She's mine!!)
It's 2008 and 22 years since we graduated from Glass. Can't believe it! Are there any plans for a reunion? Let's get to it, guys!!

On a sad note - Coach Don Haskins passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from diabetes and congestive heart failure. He was loved by many and missed by all. Rest in Peace, Coach.
