Pamela's Story
One of my favorite quotes is: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the things you did. So sail away from the safe harbor. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
I hail from Joplin, Missouri, and have been in Oklahoma City for 22 years. My schools were many, but I graduated from Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, California. I then studied music and education at L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles while working as a telephone operator for Memorial Hospital of Glendale until 1978. A later degree came through Mid-America Christian University (Behavioral Science) in 2005 and in 2007 I received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity.
I have done everything from retail and PBX to teaching high school literature. I've spoken for conferences and achieved one of my bucket list dreams by hosting my own radio show for awhile in 2006.
I'm spunky! I want to jump out of a plane!! Funny! I usually end up on the wing! After an education/mission trip to China in 2003, regaining my purpose has been the priority. Easy, you say? Uh, NO! Giants, you say? Uuuuh...YES! I told my son, "I know, I know, your mom has lost her ever-lovin' mind." He said, "No, I think she's finally found it!" I then went t...Expand for more
o the Philippines in 2007 for a Med/Dental Clinic and reached out to the tribes and orphans of Tuguegarao. The S.E.E.D. (sowing education for eternal destiny) Connection was birthed from those experiences.
Someone asked me long ago if I wanted to be a missionary. I don't see myself carrying that title but just being someone who enjoys reaching out to the community both local and abroad. I feel I have a heart of understanding for people who have suffered abuse in all areas. I have learned to be "God's Girl" over the years after some experiences of my own and learned the importance of respecting myself and others.
I simply adore face-to-face time with special ones in my life. Spending time with family and loved ones is a must, so the lights of my life are my 4 grandchildren.
My interests include: a love for laughing; music and drama; community work; classic movies and other films including The Sting, Holiday Inn, The Notebook, Saving Mr. Banks, The Love Comes Softly series, TCM, musicals.
I consider my music tastes to be rather eclectic, so they run the gamut from gospel to classic rock - especially Hillsong, Motown, Chicago, and the girl singers of the 1960's and 1970's.
I enjoy reading: non-fiction; The Bible; Sidney Sheldon.
