Pamela M.'s Story

Life So this is my bio, starting after high school. I went to Kingwood College for a few semesters and decided that I really wanted to pursue music instead. I knew that I could always go back to school. So, that's what I've been doing. I sang back-up vocals for a grammy winning group called "La Mafia" for about nine months. I got to travel with them and be on their album "Contigo." Then I did a few television contests; Debra Duncan's Talent Search (2001) and Channel 2's "Gimme the Mike.(2003)" A bunch of opportunities opened up as a result of being on those shows, but none of them panned out. Then in 2001, I signed a deal with a songwriter in Texas. He has written songs for Randy Travis, Travis Tritt, Montgomery Gentry, and some others. The deal was that he would shop me to different labels in hopes of getting me a record deal. I got signed by CEO Luke Lewis of Mercury Records under Universal Entertainment in 2003 to an Artist Development Deal. Unfortunately, nothing happened with that either, but Universal payed for the demo that I have now that I use to promote myself since we've lived in Tennessee. I met Zach Vallejo in the summer of 2002 and it was absolutely love at first sight! We started dating and eight months later he proposed! Then almost a year and a half later we got married (May 22, 2004). ...Expand for more
Zach applied to the Nashville Fire Department and got hired. He got hired on August 1, 2004 and we moved to Tennessee 21 days later. We lived in an apartment for six months and then found a house. We bought it and moved in February of 2005. A lot of changes occurred in our first year of marriage. We've moved three times in a year! Since we've been living here he's been working as a fire fighter and I've been working part-time at a bank. I also have been performing and doing demo work for songwriters. Opportunities are always opening up, but my time is running out. I'm getting old!lol I'm not going to chase a record deal much longer. I'm banking on a few more things that I've got going on right now, but if they fall through that's it for me. I'll still sing, perform, and do demo work, but I'm not going to keep going after a record deal. I want to go back to school and teach music or choir. I definitely want to stick with what I'm good at. I also want to dedicate more time to doing mission work at my church. I've always wanted to be able to do that. We don't have any kids yet. God willing, we're saying that we're going to wait until I'm 30 ....... but kids are not on our minds right now. That's about it in a nutshell. Well, mostly the highlights of my life since high school. God bless you all!
