Pamela's Story
I have had 2 main careers in my life; one was working in Government libraries either helping the career/self development side of the employees working in corporations both on this coast and on the east coast. I've also worked in public libraries and in a school library (k's to gr 7). In 1998 I went back to community college and got my level 1 french and took medical courses and got involved in hospital work. ent in Oncology and worked for the Chief physician but missed dealing with the patients so went into the childrens hospital in the child psychology department. I was head hunted out of that job into Great West Life where I was hired as a Disability Claims Manager handling claims for people who were off work short term or indefinately. I was working there in 2003 when I developed an autoimmune disease which includes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Fibromyalgia. It has affected my abilities and my health to the point I am now on permanent disability and am basically retired and spend each day as I wish (depending on whether my energy is up to it! lol)
